Bunny bouquet

Today I have a card featuring another recent acquisition from The Cat's Pajamas. I just can't get enough of this bunny! He's so, so cute. And today he's holding a beautiful spring bouquet. This card is pretty simple, just some plain kraft, white and pink cardstock, a little dry embossing, some buttons and twine, oh, and a touch of bling! I added some rhinestones to the image panel and a touch of Stickles to the flowers for some more sparkle. The inside is blank so I can customize this card for whatever occasion I need it for. Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies:
Stamps: Bloom, TCP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copic markers
Cardstock: Pretty in pink, SU; Kraft, Speckletone; white, Neenah
Accessories: rhinestones, Stickles, Nestabilities, scallop edge punch, twine, buttons

Bubble Therapy

I had some un-inked Cat's Pajamas stamps sitting on my craft desk and I just couldn't let them sit there any longer! So I spent a little time over the weekend getting them inky for the first time. This is my first TCP set featuring Sprinkle - I love this fun bathtub image and it was a lot of fun to paper-piece. The rest of the image was colored with Copics. I added some glitter to the bubbles for plenty of sparkle. The layout is from the current TCP Tuesday challenge, a sketch this week. I paired the image with fun papers from the Lily Bee Buttercup 6x6 pad. Thanks for stopping by today!

Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics

National Scrapbook Day, Part 3

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I have for you a scrapbook page featuring creatures at Sea World. For National Scrapbook Day, Basic Grey is hosting a series of challenges, including one to pull out vintage BG papers and use them. Well, let me tell you, I have PLENTY of vintage papers. These are from the Lollipop Shoppe and Skate Shoppe collections, and are among the first Basic Grey papers I ever bought. I thought the colors were a good match for these underwater photos of the fish. I cut a portion of one sheet with a Creative Memories wavy cutter to mimic waves. The photos are all matted in more of the papers. I have enough left to make a second-page and complete the two-page spread. I think maybe this layout needs some kind of title in the blank space on the blue portion, but I'm not sure, so I called it good, at least for now! Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock: Basic Grey Lollipop and Skate Shoppe collections

National Scrapbook Day, Part 2

I figured since it was National Scrapbook Day, I should actually make a page! This page was inspired by a challenge on the Echo Park blog to take inspiration from one of their design team projects. I chose the card from Kandis Smith - I love the block layout, buttons and flag with the sentiment she used on her card, so I incorporated those features into my page. The papers are from the Winter Park collection.
The pictures are from 2010, when my mom, sister and I went for a quick visit to the Oregon Coast over the Christmas break. We decided to hit the beach when the sun peeked out, but it was so windy and cold we didn't last long. On our way back from our very brief walk, it started to rain again. We had fun, though!

Cardstock: Echo Park Winter Park papers, neenah white, SU soft sky

National Scrapbook Day

Good morning, and happy National Scrapbook Day! I woke up this morning and began flipping through my blog reader when I learned Echo Park Paper - you probably know it as my favorite paper company that I just can't get enough of! - is hosting some challenges today to celebrate NSD. The first one was a card-making challenge, and there was a time deadline. So I whipped this up before I even had coffee! All of the patterned papers and stickers are from the Merry Christmas collection from Echo Park. This has been one of my favorites - well, I guess they are all my favorite collections - so I've used quite a bit of it up, but I still had enough left to pull this card together. Thanks for a fun challenge, EP!
Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI chocolate, SU vanilla, Echo Park Merry Christmas collection

One layer

I had a chance to play along in a challenge on StampTV the other day, and boy was it a challenge! Tina asked us to make a one layer card with just one embellishment. I pulled out one of my all-time favorite Gina K Designs stamp sets, Gifts from the Sea by Melanie Muenchinger, and got to work. I started with a cream card base, then used masking to layer the shell images in different colors of ink. One smart thing I did when I first got this set was make masks for several of the images using sticky notes. Each time I use the masks, I stick them on the cover of the stamp set and save them for future use. It makes the masking go much faster, since I don't have to do all that fine cutting! Anyway, after I layered the shells, I added sand using a shimmery brilliance ink, then finished the card off with a sentiment and a ribbon.
Supplies:
Stamps: Gifts from the Sea, Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs
Ink: Memento desert sand, brilliance chestnut, Memento tuxedo black, Memento potter's clay, brilliance pearlescent beige
Cardstock: Choice buttercream
Accessories: ribbon

Drink umbrella wreath

Today's project is a bit of a departure from my usual stamped cards. I may have mentioned here that I am a big fan of Pinterest. One of the first pins on my board was this wreath made from drink umbrellas. Well, after I put away the Easter decorations last weekend (a little late, I know!) my door was feeling a bit bare, so I figured it was time to spruce it up a bit. I picked up a styrofoam wreath form and a bunch of cheap drink umbrellas and put this together last night. It was pretty easy, once I got the hang of the spacing and angles for the umbrellas. I love how it turned out, though I wish I had a wider, pink ribbon to tie it with. I think it'll be perfect for spring and summer!
Supplies:
Styrofoam wreath base, paper drink umbrellas, ribbon for hanging

Pom Flower

This week's TCP Tuesday challenge was to make your own flowers. I thought I would try my hand at making a pom flower out of twine using a fork. I saw this idea using yarn on Pinterest; it was pretty easy to do with twine. I added a button in the center to finish off my flower, which does add some bulk to the card because it's pretty thick. I paired the flower with this fun image of the bun bun and some Echo Park papers for a cheery card that should bring a smile to somebody's face. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great Friday!

Supplies:
Stamps: Kick Some Grass, The Cat's Pajamas
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copic markers
Cardstock: SU pumpkin pie and kiwi, neenah white, Echo Park Summer Days patterned papers

Dino birthday

I needed a quick guy birthday card the other day and the closest guy stamps to me was Dinomite by Theresa Momber for Gina K Designs. I love these fun dinosaurs - they are fun to color and offer lots of options. This particular dino is colored with Copics and paired with the mat stack 5 houndstooth stamp and coordinating dies from PTI. The green paper has a hint of pattern on it, which  I used the "party like you're going extinct" sentiment on the inside. The bone is an attempt to cover a little mistake; since it's a guy card, I think it worked!
Supplies:
Stamps: Dinomite, Gina K Designs; Mat Stack 5, PTI
Ink: Pumpkin pie, Memento tuxedo black, Copic markers
Cardstock: Night of navy, neenah white, DCWV patterned paper
Accessories: Mat stack 5 dies, Nestabilities circle

Birthday bag

Here's another card using some of my new acquisitions. This one features It's in the bag and the coordinating shopping bag dies from Taylored Expressions. The bag die is really easy to use and assembles quickly. The patterned papers are from Lily Bee's Buttercup line - one of my new faves! I added a twine handle and a bit of tissue to the bag and used a PTI die for the sentiment - it matches very well with the tiny bag label that comes with the TE dies. A couple of buttons and some twine finish off the card. This one will go out to a friend with a birthday coming up.Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: It's in the bag, Taylored Expressions
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copic markers
